Stroll across the soft sands at low tide and explore Burgh Island, or take the unique sea tractor at high tide! Visit the historic Pilchard Inn (c1336) and walk to the top of the island to the Huer’s Hut to take in the fabulous coastal scenery and the view to the famous Eddystone Lighthouse.

Adjacent to the complex is a fine beach shop selling all you need for a day on the beach. The Discovery Surf School provides tuition and hire for the more energetic.

A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the stunning coastline of South Devon is famous for its rugged beauty, its famous South West Coastal Path, wonderful views and great beaches – one of the most popular being the ‘Blue Flag’ Bigbury Beach, just a few steps from your apartment!

Puffins, in addition to being a fabulous beachside getaway, is the perfect base from which to explore beautiful South Devon. The historic towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe are just a few miles away and Puffins is within easy striking distance of numerous other beaches, Dartmoor National Park, Totnes, Dartmouth and Plymouth are all within easy reach.

There are activities here for everyone. Whether you like walking, cycling, sailing, surfing, playing golf, enjoying some local delicacies or just chilling out on the beach, a visit to South Devon is an absolute must!

The Beach Shop keeps everything you need to make the most of the beach.

St Ann’s Chapel Post Office & Stores is just a few minutes drive away and has a range of newspapers, groceries (which can be delivered to your apartment) and a Cash machine.

South Devon is renowned for the quality and variety of its fresh produce and cuisine.

Fishing is still an important industry in the area and the variety of fresh fish available is superb. The lush pastures of the South Hams also supports the production of some of the UK’s best meats, poultry and vegetables so for the ‘foodies’ amongst you, your stay in the area will be a treat!

For those who enjoy sampling locally produced beers, wine, cider and natural spring water, you won’t be disappointed.

South Devon enjoys a wealth of fantastic inns, country pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets so whether you fancy a simple bowl of mussels by the beach or an evening of fine dining, the choice is almost endless.
